Exaggerated Startle Response Print
Our son would get very intent on playing with something on the floor. He almost acted deaf, he would be so intent sometimes. But if someone came in quietly, or I walked out quietly, or some other change occurred while he was engrossed, look out. When he realized the change, he would visibly startle, then scream! His little body would also shake, he would be so terrified/anxious/scared when he was startled by a change around him. (a. 14mo, FC)
