Language/Speech Problems Print
Although this is briefly addressed in Dr. Buenning's list (#21 Little or Reduced Verbal Responsiveness), as a group we've noticed the lack of expressive and/or receptive language in many of our attachment-impaired children. Some also demonstrate a reluctance to imitate. Children may qualify for early intervention in the area of speech/language. The root cause, however, may have more to do with the child's need to control the language skills they possess.
