On-Line Support Groups

Many on-line groups offer support to parents of children with attachment problems. The groups vary in size and focus.

A4everFamily list serve is for adoptive parents whose children, adopted between the ages of birth and 12 months, primarily adopted internationally out of foster care, are experiencing attachment problems. We support and encourage one another in a confidential environment. You must be a parent who is currently experiencing attachment issues with a young child to be a member.

ADN Parents

ADN Parents is a national list serve for families who have a child recently diagnosed with RAD, highly suspect their child has attachment difficulties, or whose children are more on the mild to moderate end of the Attachment Disorder spectrum. ADN_Parents is a closed list and new members can only be added by the moderator. This is a parents-only list and does not allow therapists, agencies or social workers to participate. The Attachment Disorder Network (ADN) is a national non-profit parent support group dedicated to education, advocacy and support of families of children affected by Attachment Disorder. For more information about ADN or to join us, go to www.radzebra.org.

Adoptbiomed is for adoptive families who are trying to determine if their child's issues/behaviors are due to attachment problems, RAD, PTSD, Sensory Integration, Autism Spectrum Disorders, adoption issues or any combination of the above. Parents on the list are actively seeking appropriate treatments to help their particular child. The focus of this list is biomedical.

This is a list for parents who have adopted children from China and other countries who are experiencing attachment trauma issues, including sleep problems, severe separation anxiety, severe temper tantrums, oppositional behavior, etc... Attach-China/International is not a list for parents who describe their children as doing well but who want to be educated about what to look for. For that, go to www.attach-china.org.

Families using the Nancy Thomas program, "Taming the Tiger While It's a Kitten," with an infant or toddler are invited to join our discussion.
